New Book and TTRPG

By

Hello! Happy New Year.

I have a TON of exciting stuff to share! 2026 is going to be an exciting year.

Firstly, I have a new book, This Time Will be Different, in the works – the first in a series tentatively titled “Veilside.” This project is a labor of love and a story I’ve been working on over and over and over and over and over and over and over. Turns out the reason it was never “right” is because it was meant to be a series. Go figure.

The genre is tentatively Paranormal New Adult – with a dash of fantasy for a magic system still in the works. While this is a departure from my first book, hopefully it can still hook fantasy lovers.

Set in a world where people who have witnessed death, or nearly experienced it themselves, can see spirits, This Time Will be Different follows a young medium named Aaron as he returns home from university to care for his sick father–only to be chased down by the spirit he ran from in the first place.

Imagine if Life is Strange and Pushing Daisies had a baby.

The book will be an exploration of abuse, trauma, and what it means to let go–and the potential cost of forgiveness.

I’ve already received my commissioned cover art and character portraits and they are SO BEAUTIFUL! I can’t wait to share them with you.

There’s another piece of Veilside that I’m working on that you won’t want to miss…

Veilside TTRPG in Development

Yup. You heard that right.

My partner, Killian, who is also an incredible writer as well as gamemaster, is helping me develop a oneshot TTRPG set in the world of Veilside. We’ve already hammered out the major mechanics and are developing the content. Meant for 1-4 players, this oneshot has the gamemaster (“the Babysitter” playing as a spirit) guiding the players in their mission to help the spirit move on, or risk their own spirits in the process.

We will be sharing more information as it comes, including where you can find the game, playtest footage, and more. Make sure you’re subscribed to this newsletter so you can get all the details!
