It has been both a very eventful and uneventful month for me! Sometimes I feel like a rock in the middle of a stream.
Heartlines Updates
The cover is in the second iteration, and I look forward to sharing it, and the release date, with you all soon! I will be looking for ARC READERS, so if you’re interested in a story where gods use their favorite mortal as a bargaining chip in their messy divorce, you can read it for FREE. Contact me!
I have started writing a sequel. I’m not totally sold on it concept wise, as sequels are sort of new ground for me, but I’m thinking it’ll be very much an Orpheus and Eurydice style story… more to come.
I’m also kicking around a few more ideas, including a speculative fiction story about a post-apocalyptic cross-country road trip, a split-time narrative about a feet pic seller who discovers her birth mom’s sad past, and a magical realism story about a artist who can see ghosts returning home after a long journey (only to be haunted, literally, by a trauma he has never meaningfully confronted).
The Indie Author Community
I continue to be astounded by the warmth and robustness of the indie author community on TikTok and Discord. I have since joined The Indie Author Revolution, a group dedicated to supporting indie authors, editors, narrators, and artists. It has TONS of free resources, and they often do events and live streams, and provides an outlet for us to support each other. Plus easy access to indie books for free or cheap! Find more about them here.
Next month–Pride month–is going to have some pretty exciting announcements. Stay tuned!
